Newsletter Sponsorship

Help offset the time and resources required to distribute our weekly newsletter through CorrLinks/TRULINCS after BOP policy changes limited recipient counts and now require one-inmate-at-a-time messaging.

Latest from the Blog

Plain-English explainers on arguments, circuit wins, sentencing policy, and practical education for families and advocates.

Why Trust ALERT 2020

ALERT 2020 has provided federal legal education and research-based publications for over fifteen (15) years, including the ALERTupdate2020 Newsletter, which has reached approximately 50,000 federal inmates over time.

Experience & Reach

We focus on clear, structured education for families and advocates navigating federal matters, along with written case evaluations and research support across post-conviction proceedings nationwide.

Transparency & Standards

ALERT 2020 is a private, for-profit company. We are not a law firm and we do not guarantee outcomes. We emphasize accuracy, consistency, and responsible communication of federal legal developments.

Newsletter Distribution Reality

BOP messaging restrictions have increased distribution time and effort. On September 30, 2024, the BOP restricted TRULINCS messages to a maximum of 10 recipients per email. On July 9, 2025, the BOP instructed CorrLinks to restrict messaging to one BOP inmate per email, eliminating group, blast, or mass emails. This change has extended distribution from approximately one hour to as long as two weeks.
